Salford RLFC Confirm Permanent Signing of Jake Spedding

Salford RLFC are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Jake Spedding.

The Centre/Winger has signed a one and a half year deal with the club, that sees him stay until the end of the 2027 season.

The 29-year-old will bring Championship and League 1 experience, having previously been at North Wales Crusaders.

Spedding started his career at St Helens, having come through the youth setup at the Merseyside club. He made his Super League debut in 2016 against Warrington Wolves.

He went out on loan for two seasons to Sheffield Eagles, where he made 27 appearances, and gained some valuable experience.

Since then Salford’s number 3 has played for Barrow Raiders, Featherstone Rovers, Widnes Vikings, Swinton Lions and North Wales Crusaders.

In his first interview with the club, Spedding said:

“I’m really excited to join Salford, I was looking around for the right club and when Salford came up, it just felt right.

“Any chance that you get to represent a club like Salford is a great opportunity for myself to play in a great stadium alongside a big fanbase.

“I will try and bring a bit of experience to the group and help some of the good young players that are at the club.

“I will always give 100% and I will work hard for the badge, for the team and the fans, I will also pride myself on being the best I can be for everyone at the club whilst I am here.”

Spedding will be sponsored by Lockley Design and Build.
